Battlefield 3 Review

Anyone following Battlefield 3 can admit the hype leading into its release was one of the biggest this year with the introduction of the new Frostbite 2 engine.

Battlefield 3 comes with two discs on the Xbox360 and one on the PS3 that involves a rich multiplayer experience with a deep class-based team play with vehicular mayhem! While the Campaign is no comparison to the multiplayer, with some glitches here and there, this game still proves to be a worthy purchase and a strong competitor to other FPS games out there, including one in particular (you know the one…)!

Graphics

Frostbite 2 is an amazing engine, showing a lot of detail in the environment as well as rich particle effects and true-to-life physics. (Simply put, when you blow shit up, it looks pretty!)

Gameplay

Guns fire off nicely and I like the sound effects of them firing; I like how it feels when maneuvering and aiming is great. With so many vehicles to choose from, mastering them all will render you unstoppable. Moving around on the maps feels so realistic and allowing you to go prone makes it that more awesome.

Multiplayer

For those of you who played Bad Company 2; this is not a copy and past with slightly better graphics. The guns in this game are more balanced and for those of you who vowed not to buy this game because you didn't like the BETA, don't worry – none of those glitches exist and all were fixed! The Battlelog is back and a lot better, adding social media into the mix that includes Facebook and Twitter.

Overall

The Frostbite 2 Engine is a monster, and represents Battlefield 3 to the fullest, making it one of the best shooters out to date. If you have space on your HDD, you must download the HD Texture Package to get the best out of the game. The soundtrack is amazing, the graphics shine, and the single-player campaign is filled with action-packed content. Playing multiplayer has a bigger “fun factor” than the single-player campaign. In multiplayer, I enjoyed the overhead dogfights and the awesome tank battles. This game is a must buy.

The great war of the FPS has begun. Gamers have already started taking side. With BF3 shipping 10,000,000 copies, COD is getting a run for there money and shouldn't take BF3 for granted. BF3 is bringing the pain.
